FAMILY MASSAGE, TEACHING & WORKSHOPS

Coming of Age Retreat for Girls – March 11-12, 2017
Led by Teijo Munnich and Autumn Woodward

Coming of Age Retreat

2H9A9159Autumn grew up in a close, goofy family, and loves her work with families and students.

In addition to pediatric massage, Family Massage workshops and Peer to Peer massage classes for schools are offered. Autumn has taught massage for third grade students at Rainbow Community School, a series of nine workshops for students ages 10-16 at the Asheville Ballet Conservatory for their Summer Intensive, and for children and teens studying meditation at Great Tree Zen Women’s Temple. At Asheville Ballet Conservatory she taught students beginning sports massage to help each other relieve soreness, increase circulation and build stability and balance. Massage classes give children positive skills to help each other, learn about muscles, increase body awareness, practice boundaries, learn about anatomy and build healthy peer relationships.

Please contact Autumn to request a workshop: autumn@autumnwoodward.com or call 828-333-7315.

“While Autumn Woodward is exceptionally skilled at pediatric massage, this is only one small aspect of her gift.  She shares her practice as a teacher with a beautiful clarity, from a place of deep purpose.  Autumn provided instruction for my class of third grade students about simple massage techniques, and she coached them in offering massage to one another.  Through her modeling and teaching, they understood that healing touch is something to be approached with reverence, and the children now consistently share this gift with one another with the same deep respect that Autumn modeled for them.  In her work, and through her very presence, Autumn embodies the possibility of a world where loving, compassionate relationships are available to every person, and where the healing arts are not the domain of specialists, but everyone’s birthright.  It is a joy for me to recommend her as a therapist and a teacher.” ~Chris Weaver, Teacher and author of the book Living School Design 1.0
